Hightower Gap - Appalachian Trail at Appalacian Blue Ridge Road, Blue Ridge, Georgia.

Nearest camp is at Hawk Mountain roughly .5 miles south on the AT. This is the first parking area though where vehicles can be left after the lot just north of Springer Mountain. Great place to leave a car if you want to do the first stretch of the AT. The Mountain access roads can be a bit rough getting here. Much easier and shorter to drive in from the south-east from Dahlonega than from the south-west. Can be done in a sedan but 4WD or AWD is certainly recommended.
